Tyler Shelvin — Defensive Tackle — Redshirt Junior

Tyler Shelvin is another player that could’ve went to the NFL after the 2019 season.

But instead, he opted to return to LSU for his redshirt junior season.

It’s pretty much a given, however, that this will be Shelvin’s final season in Baton Rouge. He would’ve been a decently high draft pick this year had he chose to forego his final two years of eligibility.

In fact, it’s very possible that Shelvin would’ve been a first round pick.

Shelvin, who has prototypical size for a defensive tackle at the next level, is the type of player that will be a space eater for an NFL team. He’s already an elite defensive tackle and he should only improve in Bo Pelini’s defense in 2020 (Pelini compared Shelvin to former Tigers defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey earlier this year).

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Shelvin get selected by a team with a top 10 pick.
