There’s nothing quite like seeing a sea of orange in Knoxville on a Saturday in the fall.

Tennessee hasn’t been very good over the last 10 years, but the Big Orange fan base remains among the most passionate in the nation.

And a game day in Knoxville is truly special.

There’s the Vol Navy, the running though the T before the game and the (approximately) 250 renditions of Rocky Top that you’ll hear throughout the game.

And despite the Vols not winning more than nine games in a season since 2007, the fans still get incredibly loud.

In 2015, Tennessee hosted Oklahoma on a Saturday night and it was a raucous environment.

Former Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield described Neyland as a “different type of loud”.

From CBS Sports:

"But last year when we went to play Tennessee in Neyland Stadium, that was probably the best game experience I’ve had and probably will ever have. That’s a different type of loud. I can’t even describe it. It was unbelievable.”"

That’s hard to top, and it’s why Tennessee’s game day atmosphere is so high on this list.
