5. Karl Dunbar — Pittsburgh Steelers defensive line coach

If Ed Orgeron wants to keep it in the family, he can bring in former LSU defensive lineman Karl Dunbar to be the Tigers’ next defensive coordinator.

Dunbar, who played at LSU in the late 1980s, has a ton of experience. He’s been on staff at LSU and Alabama as a defensive line coach (under Les Miles and Nick Saban, respectively). And he’s been on several NFL staffs.

The only downside here is that Dunbar has never been a defensive coordinator.

But it’s hard for me to imagine that Dunbar has this much experience and isn’t capable of doing the job. If the rest of LSU’s targets were to say no, I think Dunbar would be someone worth calling.
