Relocating to Houston for game week

This was probably a bigger factor in the game than we realized.

LSU was forced to relocate to Houston for game week last weekend due to Hurricane Ida. That made for a strange week — even though Orgeron tried to make things as normal as possible.

While I’m sure there are some folks who think football practice is football practice no matter where it takes place, it’s important to remember that the anxiety some of these players were feeling this week.

Hurricane Ida did a significant amount of damage in Louisiana. And numerous players were personally impacted in some way.

LSU has around 60 players from Louisiana on its roster. And some of those families were affected by the Hurricane.

From 247Sports:

"“Some of the houses are really damaged, some of them need to be displaced to hotels, but for the most part, everybody’s fine,” Orgeron added."

I’m sure it’s tough to focus on preparing for a football game when you’re a college-aged kid and your hometown is dealing with devastation.
