Matt Campbell — Iowa State head coach

Matt Campbell is one of the most well-respected young coaches in college football right now.

The 41-year-old Ohio native has worked wonders as the head coach at Iowa State, completely turning the program around from a punchline to a potential College Football Playoff contender.

Iowa State went 9-3 in 2020, which included wins against Oklahoma and Texas.

So far, Campbell has seemed reluctant to leave Iowa State. He’s rebuffed interest from numerous major programs over the last several years. But could he really turn down the Tigers? LSU is a destination job. It’s top of the mountain for a college football coach.

The only concern with Campbell is that he has no experience coaching in the south. But I think that’s only a minor concern. If Campbell can have success at Iowa State, there’s little doubt he could have success at LSU.
