Luke Fickell — Cincinnati head coach

Luke Fickell is going to be a red hot name this offseason.

The former Ohio State defensive lineman is 39-14 as the head coach at Cincinnati.

Since Fickell’s first season at Cincinnati in 2017, he’s 35-6. He’s only lost one game since the 2019 season.

Someone is going to throw a lot of money at Fickell.

The only question is which job does he take?

Fickell has spent his entire coaching career in the state of Ohio. I think it goes without saying that Ohio State would be Fickell’s dream job.

But when will the Buckeyes job be open? Ryan Day is 27-3 as Ohio State’s head coach. It doesn’t seem like that job is opening anytime soon. And Fickell needs to take advantage of his stock being high right now.

Would LSU be the right job for Fickell?

Fickell spent a season with the New Orleans Saints as a player, so he knows what Louisiana is about.
