LSU football is back in the national spotlight this week after being bumped off the airwaves last week against New Mexico. The Tigers’ match-up against Auburn will take center stage as it kicks off at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN. This edition of the Tiger Bowl is significantly less enticing with both programs in limbo right now. Nevertheless, it’s always a good time when these two Southeastern Conference foes get together at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Conference play isn’t reserved for the SEC this week either. Many conferences across the country are getting into the thick of their schedules, which means some of the best football will be played here in the coming weeks. How will you keep track of it all? This is the College Football Week 5 viewing guide, geared specifically toward those deadset on watching LSU at Auburn.

I will provide two options for each normal timeslot (minus the early evening slot, that’s reserved for the Bayou Bengals): one for SEC games and the other for pure entertainment purposes. All times will be CT and all selections come from 506sports’ complete list of games. Let’s kick off the perfect Week 5 viewing schedule without further ado.

Late morning slot (11 a.m.)

The first game of the day is a relatively easy choice as there is a Top 15 match-up in Oxford, Mississippi kicking off at 11 a.m. No. 7 Kentucky travels to No. 14 Ole Miss (ESPN) in a pivotal game for the SEC. This will be a battle between two of the most underrated coaches in the country as they look to prove that their teams have what it takes to compete in the SEC going forward.

If that game doesn’t tickle your fancy, there are a handful of other good games to watch. Most notably, Oklahoma at TCU (ABC). How will the Sooners respond to a loss to Kansas State last weekend in their final tune-up before the Red River Shootout? Only time will tell following Brent Venables’ first loss as head coach of Oklahoma.

As an extra pick, keep an eye on FOX as Michigan clashes with Iowa. The Wolverines looked bad last week against Maryland and, as much as we make fun of the Hawkeyes, their defense is one of the best in the entire country.

Picks: Kentucky at Ole Miss (SEC), Oklahoma at TCU (entertainment)

Mid-afternoon (2:30 p.m.)

The mid-afternoon slot is jam-packed with incredible football games. The headliner is obviously No. 2 Alabama at No. 20 Arkansas (CBS), which will have huge implications in the SEC West. It’s the Crimson Tide’s first big road test since it was on the road at Texas a few weeks ago.

If that game gets out of hand—which it can do—there are a plethora of other options to choose from. No. 22 Wake Forest at No. 23 Florida State (ABC) is a game that will pique the interest of LSU fans. No. 9 Oklahoma State at No. 16 Baylor (FOX) has the potential to also be a fantastic game between two of the Big 12’s best.

Lastly, No. 17 Texas A&M is on upset watch in Starkvegas against Mississippi State (SEC Network) starting at 3 p.m. CT. In the end, the aforementioned ACC clash gets my vote. I believe the Demon Deacons and Seminoles are two evenly-matched teams that have the talent to entertain.

Picks: Alabama at Arkansas (SEC), Wake Forest at Florida State (entertainment)

Late night (8:30 p.m. and later)

The late-night slate doesn’t disappoint either. Pac-12 after dark provided some wild moments on Friday night, can the conference one-up itself on Saturday with more games on the schedule? Stanford at No. 13 Oregon (FS1) always lives up to the hype. If for one reason or another it doesn’t this year though, the explosive offense of Lincoln Riley’s USC squares off against Arizona State at 9:30 p.m. CT (ESPN) following the conclusion of LSU at Auburn.

Picks: Stanford at Oregon

There you have it, your perfect day of college football. Happy viewing!
