Brian Kelly recently said LSU football is a year away from national championship contention. Today, we’re looking at what Vegas thinks of LSU’s chances.

After an impressive first season at LSU, Brian Kelly has the Tigers primed to make a run at the national championship. Despite his comments earlier this week, many LSU football fans still believe the roster is prepared to win a title. Vegas has similar thoughts, as the Tigers are one of the favorites to win the CFP in most sportsbooks.

BetMGM

BetMGM gives what is the most fair odds for LSU football to win it all. The Tigers have the fifth shortest odds of winning the natty at +1200. Like the other sportsbooks, UGA, Bama, and OSU have better odds of winning the CFP than LSU, but they also have Michigan above the Tigers at +900.

DraftKings

If you’re an LSU football fan and want to bet on them to win the national championship, DraftKings is the place to do it. They currently have the longest odds for LSU to win the 2023 national championship out of all the sportsbooks at +1500.

Unlike Fanduel, DraftKings gave six schools better odds to win the natty than LSU. Along with UGA (+215), Bama (+600), and OSU (+600), DraftKings also has Michigan (+900) and USC (+1400) above the Tigers.

Caesars Sportsbook

Caesars and BetMGM have almost identical odds for the NCAA football national champions. UGA and Bama have +220 and +600 odds, respectively, on both books. OSU and Michigan have the third and fourth shortest odds on both, while LSU rounds out the top five at +1200 odds.

Fanduel

If you are considering betting on LSU football to win the national championship, steer away from Fanduel. They give the Tigers the shortest odds of all the sportsbooks to win the national title at +1000, meaning a $100 bet would net you $1,000. LSU has the fourth-best odds to win it all as of July 5th, with Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State above them.

In April, Fanduel had LSU with the seventh-longest odds to win at +1800. Since then, the Tigers have jumped Florida State (+1800), USC (+1600), and Michigan (+1000). The sudden jump in odds means the Tigers are trending in the right direction in Vegas’ eyes as the season approaches.

Next. Brian Kelly's disappointing comments about LSU's title chances. dark

If history repeats itself, LSU football has an excellent chance of winning the national championship in 2023. Kim Mulkey and Jay Johnson won titles in their second seasons at LSU. If this trend continues, Brian Kelly and LSU could be next on the list to bring a championship home to Baton Rouge.
