LSU Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels is a popular guy heading into the new college football season. Fans will start seeing him in a new POWERADE campaign.

Jayden Daniels is one of five college football superstars featured in a new POWERADE campaign entitled “IT TAKES MORE.” Such is the result of an NIL deal that I’m sure is worthwhile for the LSU Tigers quarterback.

Getting excited over a television commercial feels strange, but I’m happy for Daniels. The graduate transfer has earned the recognition he’s receiving and the NIL valuation that comes with such. Moreover, seeing the the LSU Tigers featured in national marketing campaigns for a big brand such as POWERADE is awesome.

Joining Daniels in POWERADE’s marketing and television ad campaign are Jared Verse (Florida State), Malaki Starks (Georgia), Mario Williams (USC), and Kaleb Johnson (Iowa). POWERADE plans to feature more than 60 additional college football players with future content that covers the 2023 season.

Jayden Daniels has already posted an “IT TAKES MORE” previews to social media.

The 15-second clip starts with Daniels tapping LSU’s infamous ‘Win Bar’ and transitions to him tapping a clock that reads 5 p.m. The LSU Tigers quarterback is also depicted working out, throwing a football, and drinking POWERADE.

According to their press release, POWERADE plans to air a 30-second national TV commercial that features Daniels and Verse on Sunday, September 3rd. The spot will run concurrent with the LSU vs. Florida State game.

The release also details changes to POWERADE’s formula and packaging.

"“The new, great-tasting formula now comes with 50% more electrolytes vs. Gatorade Thirst Quencher. It also includes Vitamins C and B12 – both of which are new to the POWERADE formula and not found in Gatorade. Along with the reformulation, POWERADE’s refreshed packaging featuring vibrant flavor colors on label to create an eye-catching line-up at retail.”"

POWERADE is owned by the Coca-Cola Company and works closely with Altius Sports Partners on their NIL strategies. Indeed, the “IT TAKES MORE” campaign is the beverage giant’s largest NIL deal to date.
