As promised, Death Valley Voice has ranked the top 25 teams in college football ahead of Week 0. Find out where the LSU Tigers land on our list.
On Friday, we discussed college football insider Bruce Feldman’s preseason top 25 rankings. To date, Feldman’s rankings reflect the LSU Tigers in the highest regard. He listed Brian Kelly’s team as the nation’s second-best to start the season.
Feldman’s take on the LSU Tigers is refreshing considering the trends we’ve observed with college football’s larger polls. Indeed, the coaches’ and writers’ polls ranked LSU behind Alabama at no. 5. What’s worse is the sizeable gap in points between the Tigers and the Crimson Tide in the AP and Coaches polls.
Many fans will brush off preseason polls as meaningless. However, preseason polls provide us with perspective. They also give us something to talk about before that first kickoff in Death Valley, the real Death Valley. You know, the Death Valley in Baton Rouge.
