Kaleb Jackson trucking a defender was among the highlights from LSU Football’s win over Mississippi State. The play caught the attention of social media.

Kaleb Jackson took a handoff from Jayden Daniels with 1:49 remaining in the third quarter and carried around the left edge. The true freshman running back met Mississippi State’s Isaac Smith at the first down marker, making him pay for getting in the way.

Jackson bulldozed Smith and picked up two more yards before being forced out of bounds. Indeed, it was a moment that brought fans to their feet in an embrace of the legal, organized violence that is American football. Such includes fans who won’t stop talking about it on social media.

Jackson ran for 19 yards on five carries that occurred well after LSU Football secured a big win over SEC foe Mississippi State. He was one of five Tiger running backs to carry the ball on Saturday.

Many LSU fans are chomping at the bit for Jackson to get on the field sooner in games. However, the Liberty Magnet High School product has work to do on his pass protection skills before such is possible.

Logan Diggs started Saturday’s game as running back for LSU and took most of the snaps. Diggs’ ability to protect by picking up blitzing defenders is a big reason he’s topping the depth chart.
