The new expanded 12 Team College Football Playoff format has created new possibilities for potential College Football Playoff matchups. The new on campus College Football Playoff games have created an incredible atmosphere and will only be better if heated Rivalries get involved. The LSU Football program has developed a few new rivalries over the past few years and one old rivalry would make for an incredible game.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Throughout the College Football Playoff, the entire conversation was over how Marcus Freeman was doing what Brian Kelly couldn't do even though in the end he lost in the National Championship just like Kelly did in 2012 to Alabama. Notre Dame fans love their team and their program but, they may love following their former Coach's every move.

Once and for all, we could see Brian Kelly Versus Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame on the biggest stage and settle the debate once and for all. Under the new 12 Team College Football Playoff format, the first round has on campus College Football Playoff games and Brian Kelly's return to South Bend would create one of the loudest environments in the sport.

Michigan Wolverines

Throughout the next three years, LSU fans will be keeping a close eye on the Michigan Wolverines after Bryce Underwood flipped his commitment from the Tigers to the Wolverines. If over the next three years LSU faced off against Michigan, it would be an incredible spectacle as LSU would have the chance to show Underwood he made the wrong decision. The entire recruitment created some bad blood between LSU and Michigan fans and to see the matchup play out on the field would make for quite the story.

Tulane Green Wave

The Battle for the Rag is one of LSU's oldest rivalries and throughout the State, many would love to see the In-State rivalry return but, both schools are seemingly okay with not facing each other. A College Football Playoff game between the schools would take it out of the administrations hands and we'd finally see the return of the rivalry for at least one game.
