On Wednesday Night, the LSU Basketball team will play its toughest game of the season as LSU takes on the Top Seeded Auburn Tigers. While LSU has struggled in SEC Play, Auburn has been dominant with a 6-0 record picking up some Top 25 wins along the way. On paper, the LSU Basketball team will be expected to lose and to get blown out but, the games aren't played on paper.
The LSU Basketball team badly needs to pick up a resume building win and beating the Nation's top team would be incredible. The Tigers don't have a ton of scoring options which makes the recipe to winning valuing the Basketball and stealing possessions whenever you can. When the LSU Basketball team faces off against Auburn, if Matt McMahon can get three big performances out of these players, the LSU Basketball fans may end up storming the court to celebrate a massive victory.
Corey Chest - Center
In the Alabama Game, Corey Chest was a man possessed especially in the first half as he finished the game with 12 points, 18 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Chest's dominance on the offensive glass was massive for the LSU Basketball team as he gave the Tigers an extra 9 possessions. Against Auburn, the LSU Basketball team will need to score as often as possible and if Chest can steal the Tigers a few possessions it'll go a long way in keeping up with a team that has endless fire power.
Trey'Dez Green - Forward
In the first half, we finally got to see Trey'Dez Green on the hardwood and it came as a bit of shock considering LSU was playing 4th ranked Alabama. Part of Matt McMahon's reasoning may have been to give the team extra size but, it was also impossible for Alabama to prep for Green considering there was no tape on him. The Auburn Tigers won't have much to study either and if Matt McMahon is looking to slow Johni Broome sticking Trey'Dez Green on him wouldn't be a bad idea. Green has size and speed to overwhelm any player and if Green ends up getting into foul trouble it's not a big deal for McMahon.
Mike Williams III - Guard
Early on in Non-Conference Play, Mike Williams III had little to no role as Matt McMahon was riding Vyctorius Miller. Over the past few games, Vyctorius Miller has been unavailable with injury forcing McMahon to play Mike Williams. Williams hasn't lit the world on fire but, he was crucial in LSU's win over Arkansas. Williams continues to see his playing time go up and if the Tigers can get him to shoot near his 37% mark from three was saw last season it would be a massive boost for an LSU team that has been abysmal from deep.
