The Early Portion of the National Signing Day period opens up on Wednesday and a majority of the Nation's top recruits will sign early with their future school. The past few weeks have been filled with flips which LSU knows all too well losing Bryce Underwood, Devin Harper, and Jesse Harrold. As Signing Day is right around the corner LSU fans should keep an eye on these five recruits who will lead the headlines leading up to Signing Day.
Derek Meadows has been the most likely recruit to flip over the last month especially after Bryce Underwood flipped his commitment to Michigan. There was hope that LSU was going to get Meadows onto campus this weekend but, when he didn’t make it to campus it mad it harder for LSU to keep him on board. All signs point toward Meadows landing at Alabama but, Michigan and Notre Dame have been front runners at one point as they all received Crystal Ball predictions for Meadows in November.
Tight End Mike Tyler has been another commit that has been trending away from LSU as the season winds down. It was always going to be tough to get Tyler to campus based on his proximity to South Carolina and the Gamecocks momentum ending the season has made it much tougher.
The recruitment of DJ Pickett is one you’ll never feel great about until he officially signs with LSU. The Tigers have done everything they can and Pickett’s relationship with Corey Raymond is the best thing going for LSU. In all likelihood, Pickett will sign with LSU but, given that the Tigers are being pushed by In-State Miami and Oregon with their high profile NIL, you can’t be 100% certain until it’s official.
The same can be said for Five-Star Cornerback Kade Phillips who LSU flipped from Texas as the Longhorns have kept pushing to flip him back. Phillips announced he was shutting his recruitment down after Texas pushed for a visit but, in this new NIL era you'll never feel safe against a program that recruits like Texas does.
This weekend, linebacker commit Keylan Moses took a visit to Texas A&M which should sound some alarms. Leaving the visit, Moses spoke highly about Texas A&M and seemingly now has a decision on their hands. Given that LSU has a loaded class at linebacker especially after adding Zach Weeks, it's the most likely position where LSU sees one of its commitments picked off.
