All Aboard the Nuss Bus: Garrett Nussmeier announces he'll return to LSU for 2025
While LSU has been pursuing players via the transfer portal and looking to build the roster for the 2025 season, there has been one cloud hanging over LSU's 2025 season. Garrett Nussmeier has been deciding on whether he'd head to the NFL Draft as Mel Kiper's 4th ranked quarterback or if he'd return to LSU once again.
On Wednesday Night, Nussmeier came to a decision releasing a video declaring that he'll be back for the 2025 season.
You can't say enough about Garrett Nussmeier and his dedicated love to the LSU Football Program. Nussmeier had to wait his turn while coaching staffs, players, and offensive coordinators all changed yet, he waited out being LSU's starting quarterback. A ton of players say they commit to a school with the intention of winning a National Championship but, Garrett Nussmeier has shown he actually means it.
The Tigers can now pitch for certain to top transfer portal players that Garrett Nussmeier will be leading the offense. The Tigers will have a younger offensive line and will replace some key pass catchers but, returning with Nussmeier is a solid core of weapons like Caden Durham, Trey'Dez Green, Aaron Anderson, Chris Hilton Jr, and Kyle Parker.
This offseason, we'll likely see Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Ole Miss lose their starting Quarterbacks while LSU gets theirs back boosting their chances in the SEC. LSU's last two quarterbacks to return for a second season were Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels both took Heisman Trophies home in their improvement.
The Texas Bowl now becomes an important proving ground for LSU's younger weapons and offensive linemen as they'll look to build chemistry with Garrett Nussmeier. Don't be surprised if Garrett Nussmeier goes from #13 to #18 or #7 next year.
