An Alabama transfer could be a massive recruiting target for LSU
One of the newest trends we are seeing in College Football is players announcing they're going to redshirt and transfer before they play too many snaps burning a year of eligibility. We've seen this for NIL reasons like Matthew Sluka from UNLV and we've seen in for a lack of playing time from several players.
One of the latest players to announce their plans to transfer was Alabama defensive tackle Jehiem Oatis.
Oatis has started for Alabama across the past two seasons but, saw his playing time dip this season as he's dealt with some minor injuries. Now that Oatis is entering the transfer portal, he's a name to keep an eye on for the LSU Football team as he could be a potential target for LSU.
When Oatis committed, he chose Alabama as a top 100 recruit over both of the in-state Mississippi schools and the LSU Tigers.
While a school like Ole Miss makes a ton of sense especially given how happy Lane Kiffin is to jump into the transfer portal, LSU shouldn't be counted out. Bo Davis is a Mississippi native which could help LSU in its pursuit of Oatis if they chose to do so.
Jehiem Oatis' younger brother Kevin is currently committed to Arkansas who could also be a massive player in Oatis' recruitment. The LSU Football team made a great push for Kevin Oatis as well, and if Bo Davis chooses to circle back he could come away with both defensive tackles.
The Tigers spent this entire offseason searching the transfer portal for defensive tackles which could make it a position the Tigers target once again. The Tigers will lose defensive linemen Sai'Vion Jones, Paris Shand, Bradyn Swinson, and Gio Paez while you could also lose Jacobian Guillory, Jay'Viar Suggs, and others.
