Barion Brown could be in line for a historic 2025 campaign. After three seasons with the Kentucky Wildcats, Brown comes to Baton Rouge as a part of LSU's highly-touted transfer portal class.

The accolades are already rolling in for Brown, who was named to The 2025 CBS Sports Preseason All-America Team. He is an electric receiver, but he was named to CBS' Preseason All-America Team as a kick returner. His kick returning abilities have him on the verge of an NCAA record in 2025.

Brown on the verge of becoming an NCAA record-holder

Brown comes to LSU after becoming Kentucky's record-holder for kickoff returns for a touchdown. He has five in his career, and set a Kentucky single season record with three in 2023. As a return specialist, Brown was named First-Team All-SEC in 2024 and Second-Team All-SEC in 2023.

Brown's five career kickoff returns for a touchdown are close to an NCAA record. He needs two more to tie the NCAA record for most in a career, and three to become the all-time leader. The current record of seven is held by five players: Tyron Carrier (Houston), Rashaad Penny (San Diego State), Tony Pollard (Memphis), Savon Scarver (Utah State), and C.J. Spiller (Clemson).

Brown appeared in 37 games and totaled 3,273 all-purpose yards for the Wildcats. His 122 receptions are tied for No. 14 on Kentucky's all-time receptions list, and his 1,528 receiving yards are ranked No. 10 on the school's all-time receiving yards list. He also added 11 touchdown catches in his three seasons in Lexington.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound playmaker joins an LSU offense that is loaded with talent. He is putting together a great camp so far, and could be working his way into a nice role with the Tiger offense. He figures to be the Tigers' primary kick returner as well as being a reliable target for Garrett Nussmeier in 2025.
