Any hopes that LSU would make the College Football Playoff allowing LSU to compete for a National Title came to an end on Saturday as the Tigers fell flat on their face against a Florida team that had no hopes this season. After the embarrassing loss Brian Kelly spoke to the media sharing his thoughts about his team's performance.

Brian Kelly opened his press conference by speaking on LSU's current struggles scoring over the past few weeks.

"Unfortunately, we're struggling right now. We found a way to run the ball much more effectively, but you must finish off drives. Our inability to score touchdowns and score points continues to pop up. As coaches, we have to take responsibility, and players have to own their end of it. We are in the situation that we're in because we're not effective enough in those two areas. That's where we are at right now. Our team has to make a decision on how to move forward. We've talked about it and I'm pretty confident they know what needs to happen in terms of their mindset."

Brian Kelly was asked about being seen with the offensive call sheet on the sideline, earlier this week Kelly took a subtle shot at Joe Sloan saying he's made suggestions the past few years but, making decisions is much harder.

"When things don’t go well, the head coach has to be more involved. It doesn’t mean I don’t trust, but the buck stops with me."

Brian Kelly spoke on the mentality this team will need to have over the final two weeks of the season as the Tigers now have no true goal to strive for.

"If you're not saying, 'I'm going to work to be better,' then we don't have a place for you If you want to fight and you want to keep working to get better, we're going to be alongside you. We are in a rough spot that we have to fight through."

The Florida Gators sacked Garrett Nussmeier seven times on Saturday six of which came in the second half when LSU really needed to score some points. Kelly was asked about the play of the offensive line and said that the team needs to look at the tape and see if its all on the guys up front.

"We're concerned about keeping our quarterback clean. We have to look at it in its entirety. Did the ball come out when it needed to? Did we protect the way we needed to? Anytime the quarterback gets knocked down, everyone is going to have to look at what we did and what we can do better."

Kelly was asked about LSU continued struggles in the redzone which has been an issue dating back to the first drive of the season. Brian Kelly used that area of the struggles as a reason for why he needs to be more involved in the offense.

"We can't keep taking points off the board. We had a silly, silly mistake on a touchdown. We're better than that. Drives have to be converted. You can't just move the ball up and down the field and not convert it to points. They don't give you a pat on the back because you had the ball longer or had more first downs. That is making sure that everybody is doing their job. That's why I have to be more involved in what's going on. I have to be able to figure out how we can help our players get through this. This is a rough spot for them, but we have to help them. As a coach, that's what I have to do."
