Lane Kiffin continues to utilize the transfer portal in great numbers. Kiffin has now brought in over 30 players via the portal, and his latest addition is a name Tiger fans are familiar with.
Kyle Parker finds new destination with portal commitment to title contender
According to On3, Ohio State true freshman transfer safety Faheem Delane has committed to LSU. Faheem is the younger brother of Mansoor Delane, who was an All-American in 2025 with the Tigers.
The Delane brothers won't suit up at the same time at LSU, as the elder Delane brother is projected to be a First Round selection in April's NFL Draft. But adding Faheem to LSU's secondary is a strong move for Kiffin and the Tigers.

Lane Kiffin adds Ohio State safety Faheem Delane to LSU's secondary
A former 4-star recruit, the younger Delane was ranked as the No. 8 safety in the country for the 2025 recruiting class, and is a top-10 safety in the portal per 247Sports. LSU was involved in his initial recruitment, extending an offer to him back in June 2022. He chose Ohio State, but is now Baton Rouge bound after one season in Columbus.
Delane, a 6'2" 210-pound safety, joins former Boise State's Ty Benefield as the two safeties Kiffin has nabbed in the transfer portal thus far. LSU's safety room also includes returning contributors Dashawn Spears and Tamarcus Cooley, as well as depth pieces Jhase Thomas, Aiden Hall, and Isaiah Washington. Treylan James, a transfer from Southern, can play either safety or cornerback.
The elder Delane became the fourth defensive back in LSU history to be selected as an unanimous All-American in 2025. He was targeted just 14 times on his 138 man-coverage snaps, and allowed just 6 catches for a total of 68 yards on the season. He also earned PFF’s second-best man-coverage grade (89.1) in all of college football, while collecting 45 tackles and leading the SEC in passes defended (13) and passes broken up (11).
Faheem has a bright future ahead, and has 3 years of eligibility remaining as he enters his first season with the Tigers.
