This weekend when LSU takes on Alabama it will be a jam packed weekend for recruiting as LSU will have hundreds of recruits on campus across multiple sports. The headliners are LSU commit Bryce Underwood, LSU target Jahkeem Stewart, and five-star basketball recruit Chris Cenac among others who will confirm later in the week.

The recruits will span multiple recruiting classes as the football program looks to build out its 2026 and 2027 classes while putting its final touches on the 2025 class. Among the recruits that will make their way to campus is 2027 cornerback Havon Finney Jr.

Its early in the recruiting cycle for the 2027 class but, On3 ranks Finney as the 14th ranked player in his class, 24/7 Sports ranks him as the 30th ranked player, and Rivals ranks him as the 17th ranked player.

Havon Finney Jr has been on a ton of schools radar for a long time which doesn't make it surprising that he's being heavily recruited as a Sophomore in High School. Havon Finney Jr first popped into the National Spotlight as a nine year old when he picked up a scholarship offer from the University of Nevada.

The Tigers have already hosted Finney on a visit when he came to town this Spring and the Tigers have put themselves in a great position early on. At 6 foot 2, Finney is the prototypical size for a Corey Raymond cornerback and Raymond will be able to pitch his long line of players that have gone on to succesful NFL careers when pitching Finney.

Corey Raymond will rebuild DBU at LSU

We've already seen players like Ashton Stamps and Zy Alexander take massive jumps in the first year with Corey Raymond on campus. The Tigers have been recruiting defensive backs at a higher level since Raymond's return as well landing the Nation's top cornerback DJ Pickett as well as elite cornerback recruits like Kade Phillips and Aidan Anding. Under Corey Raymond's lead we'll see LSU finally return to its standard in the secondary which will elevate the defense.
