LSU will host its two most important recruiting targets for the Alabama game
The LSU Tigers now get to face Alabama in a game with the biggest stakes of the season as the loser will be eliminated from the race for the College Football Playoff by taking their third loss. This weekend was always going to be one of the biggest for LSU in terms of recruiting as LSU will get close to 100 recruits onto campus across multiple recruiting classes. There are two visitors that are going to be the most important for LSU.
To start, LSU will get Five Star Quarterback Bryce Underwood onto campus for his official visit. Underwood is the Nation's top ranked quarterback and top ranked overall recruit in the class and has been committed to LSU sine January.
Getting Underwood on campus for his official visit is important first because he's the biggest commitment LSU has which is great for getting talent around him. Also, Underwood's recruitment is starting to pick up as Michigan continues its late NIL push to get Underwood to stay home.
It's always best to judge a recruit based on their actions, and since committing to LSU, Underwood hasn't taken a visit anywhere else so until Underwood shows up in Ann Arbor, there's no reason to worry.
The other high profile recruiting target LSU will get on campus is five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart. The race for Stewart is well underway but, sped up as he reclassified from the 2026 class to the 2025 class. The Tigers have the advantage of being the in-state team but, USC, Ohio State, and Oregon are all pushing for Stewart.
Landing Stewart who is ranked as the Nation's 15th ranked recruit would bolster LSU's 4th ranked recruiting class which is already headlined by three five-star recruits. The Tigers have been able to lock down most of the elite talent in the state with Brian Kelly at the helm but, a player of Stewart's talent level at a position of need is an absolute must for LSU.
A massive stretch for recruiting lies ahead
Any program can build massive momentum on the recruiting trail during the offseason as you're able to sell everyone on your vision. If LSU loses to Alabama they'll once again miss the College Football Playoff which will be a selling point for schools LSU is competing against. This final stretch leading up to National Signing Day is the biggest stretch for recruits flipping and LSU will need to do whatever it takes to keep this class intact.
