The NIL and Transfer Portal Era have created the Wild West in the College Football recruiting world. The current era means when you land a commitment it only kicks off the wait and see period as nothing is official until a player signs with your school and even then they can back off and request out to then sign again with a new program.
Last Month at the Under Armour All American Game, the LSU Tigers picked up a massive commitment landing Tupelo, Mississippi standout JaReylan McCoy over Ole Miss and USC. Just a month and a day after commiting, JaReylan McCoy is no longer a part of LSU's recruiting class as he has decommitted.

As of late, the writing was on the wall that JaReylan McCoy wouldn't stick in LSU's class come National Signing Day. McCoy spent two of the last three weekends in Oxford including this past weekend when he attended Ole Miss' Junior Day over LSU's which set off immediate concerns.
Losing JaReylan McCoy does deal a massive blow to LSU's recruiting class as it falls from the 5th ranked class to the 7th ranked class in the Country. According to On3, JaReylan McCoy is the 88th ranked player in the class, the 8th ranked defensive lineman, and the 6th ranked player in Mississippi.
The Tigers are still in a fine spot with the defensive line in this recruiting class given the In-State talent this year. The LSU Football team holds a commitment from the 2nd ranked defensive lineman in the Country with In-State star Richard Anderson. Louisiana has top 300 recruits on the defensive line with five star Lamar Brown, Dylan Berymon, and Darryus McKinley so if LSU can lock down the State, the Tigers will be more than fine in the trenches.
