It was a rough night for Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers. After suffering a second loss of the season last week at Vanderbilt, LSU needed a bounce back performance against No. 3 Texas A&M to keep any hopes of appearing in the College Football Playoff alive. But those hopes were crushed on Saturday night as Texas A&M rolled to a lopsided 49-25 victory in Death Valley.
The loss is the latest for Kelly against a ranked team, as he continues to fail under the brightest lights. Fans are fed up, and apparently so is Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry. Landry took to X (formerly Twitter) to blast Brian Kelly and LSU's performance on Saturday night.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry blasts Brian Kelly and LSU
LSU's embarrassing loss to Texas A&M came one day after the LSU Board of Supervisors announced that ticket prices for next season are going up. According to WRBZ-2 in Baton Rouge, the price increase for LSU Football tickets will range between $25 to $125. Furthermore, it's also been reported that LSU is expecting a boost of around $5 million in revenue between the increases for both tickets and parking. It's a disappointing announcement, as fans will now have to spend even more money for a day in Baton Rouge.
In his post, Landry directly called out the LSU Board of Supervisors for making the increase while also throwing shade at Brian Kelly.
I think @LSUsports and the LSU Board of Supervisors needs to rethink their actions to raise ticket prices for next year after tonight’s showing!

Landry directly appoints members of the board, which means his post is likely to make waves among LSU officials. Tiger fans have reached a boiling point with Kelly's underperformance, and both Kelly and university officials are feeling the pressure.
Kelly continues to be out-coached by his opponents, which has LSU holding a less-than-ideal 2-3 record in SEC play so far this season. In his LSU tenure, Kelly is just 19-10 against SEC opponents, and has led the Tigers to just one SEC Championship Game appearance.
Announcing an increase in ticket prices a day before getting embarrassed on your home turf is a tough look. After Saturday's loss, Tiger fans may now be second-guessing their decisions to watch an LSU Football game at Tiger Stadium in the future.
