The 2025 LSU offense could be on the verge of a monster season. Getting Garrett Nussmeier back plays a huge part in that, and the receiving core he has at his disposal has the potential to be lethal.

The top receiver from last year's Tiger team was Aaron Anderson. He has strong chemistry with Nussmeier, and is already receiving national regonition ahead of the 2025 season.

On Wednesday, Anderson was named to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, which is given annually to college football's most outstanding receiver. Anderson is one of 12 SEC receivers to be featured on the 47-player list.

The Nussmeier to Anderson connection can yield great results for LSU once again

Last season, Anderson led LSU in catches (61) and receiving yards (884), while finishing second on the team with five receiving touchdowns. A model of consistency, Anderson recorded at least three catches in all but one game last season, and hauled in at least five passes on eight different occasions. He totaled a season-high eight receptions for 100 yards in LSU's 44-31 Texas Bowl win over Baylor.

The New Orleans native missed three practices with a knee injury earlier this preseason, but Brian Kelly doesn't expect the dynamic wideout to miss any more time due to the injury.

Headlined by Anderson, LSU has an embarrassment of riches at the wide receiver position this season. Returnees include Zavion Thomas, Chris Hilton Jr. and Kyle Parker, with the group of newcomers consisting of Nic Anderson, Barion Brown, and Destyn Hill.

After Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. both recorded 1,000-yard seasons in 2023, LSU did not have a 1,000-yard receiver in 2024. Nussmeier did a good job of spreading the ball around, as he totaled 4,052 passing yards on the season with four different pass-catchers totaling 450+ yards.

The Nussmeier to Anderson connection could yield fantastic results for the Tigers again in 2025. Their chemistry continues to grow, and having more weapons around Anderson gives opposing defenses more to worry about. Tiger fans won't be surprised if Anderson eclipses the 1,000-yard mark in 2025.
