When LSU takes on Ole Miss on Saturday Night in Death Valley, it will be one of the games that defines a season. If LSU has any hopes of competing for a spot in the College Football Playoff it starts with winning a game of this magnitude. The Rebels are ranked in the top ten of both the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll so a win would go a long way for this team.

The Tigers will face some challenges though as it looks like they'll be without three key pieces at wide receiver in Kyle Parker, CJ Daniels, and Chris Hilton Jr. The Tigers will face a ton of adversity and the defense will need to step up and deliver their best performance of the year.

Here are the official odds for the game as of Saturday Morning:

Line: Ole Miss -3.5

Total: 62.5

Death Valley Voice's Prediction's:

Nick Rome: LSU 31 - Ole Miss 24

Savannah Young: LSU 42 - Ole Miss 38

Why LSU will win this football game

The lack of experienced receivers may shockingly play in the favor of the LSU Football team. When Kentucky beat Ole Miss it was because they did an incredible job at having long sustained drives. In this game, without CJ Daniels, Chris Hilton, and Kyle Parker LSU may need to run the ball early and often and with the emergence of Caden Durham that may be the best approach for LSU.

On defense, LSU will get a massive boost from the Tiger Stadium crowd who will show out in full force for Homecoming Weekend and for the magnitude of this game. The Tigers pass rushers will be a massive factor in whether or not they're able to slow this Rebels' offense as they'll have winnable matchups.

The Stats of the Week:

Brian Kelly is 15-2 in his career coming off of the Bye Week, Brian Kelly is 12-0 in Night Games at Tiger Stadium, and his last home loss came his first season when LSU lost to Tennessee.
