On Thursday, the LSU Football Program got shocking news as defensive tackles coach Bo Davis was hired by the Saints. The move comes just under two weeks from the start of LSU's Spring Camp and now creates a void Brian Kelly may need to fill on the fly. As LSU looks to replace Bo Davis, five names stand out as potential candidates for Brian Kelly and Blake Baker.

Kevin Peoples - LSU Edge Rushers Coach

The easiest move at this stage in the game may be allowing Kevin Peoples to oversee the entire defensive line and it may work in LSU's favor as well. Kevin Peoples has coached entire defensive lines before and his track record speaks for itself. Peoples is an ace recruiter and after seeing the jumps Bradyn Swinson and Sai'Vion Jones took with Peoples coaching them, LSU could look to replicate it at defensive tackle.

Kyle Williams - LSU DT 2002-2025

The Tigers last defensive line coach Bo Davis was an All-SEC Nose Tackle for the LSU Tigers, if Brian Kelly is looking at a former player who knows the program, Kyle Williams makes a ton of sense. Williams played for LSU from 2002-2005 earning Second Team All American and First Team All-SEC Honors. Williams recently resigned from Ruston as Defensive Coordinator where he helped developed two LSU Tigers Aidan Anding and Ahmad Breaux who he'd get to coach again. Williams familiarity with the program and his experience coaching In-State make him a top candidate for the job.

Al Davis - Missouri Tigers

When LSU hired Blake Baker to coach the defense he brought Edge Rushers Coach Kevin Peoples along with him. If Blake Baker wants to reunite his unit on the defensive line, Coach Al Davis from Missouri could be a top candidate for the job. Davis is a Georgia Native which would give LSU ties in a key recruiting ground as Davis has proven to be an ace on the recruiting trail.

Brian Early - Missouri Tigers

The Coach that was brought in to replace Kevin Peoples is Brian Early who is regarded as one of the best defensive line coaches in the Country. Early is a strong recruiter dating back to his time at Houston where he recruited NFL Players Tank Dell, Gervarrius Owens, and Damarion Williams. Kelly could make Kevin Peoples and Early both defensive line coaches overseeing the entire operation or LSU could move Early to coaching the interior.

David Turner - Mississippi State

David Turner doesn't have any ties to LSU but, he's a Coach LSU should absolutely take a look at poaching from Mississippi State. The players Turner has coached or recruited speaks for itself as he's overseen the development of Fletcher Cox, Myles Garrett, Preston Smith, and Prenell McPhee among others. Turner has coached all over the SEC and has proven himself as one of the most underrated when it comes to developing talent.
