The LSU women's basketball program is off to a strong 9-0 start in the new season. The Tigers are putting up historic offensive numbers, as they are the only team in the country to average more than 100 points per game with their NCAA-leading 109.9 points per game.

Kim Mulkey's squad is dominating their non-conference slate, and picked up another impressive win on Thursday night against Duke in the ACC/SEC Challenge. After the game, Flau'jae Johnson went viral on social media for calling out ESPN on X (formerly Twitter).

The Tigers started slow against the Blue Devils, falling behind 14-1 just a few minutes into the game. The slow start was surprising, as LSU had scored at least 100 points in each of its first eight games of the season. With 6:42 to go in the 1st quarter, ESPN posted a picture of the score graphic to show that LSU could be on upset alert against the 3-5 Blue Devils.
But the upset never happened. In fact, it never really came close to happening.
LSU stormed back to trail 24-20 at the end of the 1st quarter before out-scoring Duke 31-19 in the 2nd quarter to take a 51-43 lead into halftime. The Tigers then cruised to a 93-77 victory on the road.
After the game, Johnson took to social media to ask for a score update from ESPN. The post went viral, generating 3.2 million views and over 22,000 likes.

Johnson ended the game with a team-high 18 points to go along with five rebounds, three assists, and a block. On the season, the senior guard is averaging 17.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
LSU's streak of reaching 100 points came to an end after eight games, but the Tigers still put up 90+ points for the ninth straight game to begin the 2025-26 season. According to ESPN Insights, that's the longest streak of 90+ points at any point of a season in SEC history and the longest streak by any D-1 women's team in the last 25 years.
Thanks to a 9-0 start, Mulkey has her team ranked No. 5 in the AP Poll. The Tigers are back in action on Sunday when they visit the University of New Orleans. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT.
