Flau'jae Johnson celebrated her senior night on Thursday as the LSU Tigers hosted the Tennessee Volunteers at the PMAC. Johnson scored 10 points in LSU's 89-73 victory, which puts her within striking distance of an impressive LSU milestone.

With one game remaining in the regular season, Johnson needs 25 points to reach the 2,000-point mark in her college basketball career. She currently has 1,975 total career points to her name, which ranks 12th among active Division I players in all-time points scored.

Only five players in LSU women's basketball history have reached the 2,000-point mark in their careers. The current 2,000-point club for the purple and gold includes Joyce Walker (2,906), Seimone Augustus (2,702), Julie Gross (2,488), Cornelia Gayden (2,451), and Sylvia Fowles (2,234). Johnson is looking to become the sixth player in that exclusive club down the stretch this season.

Johnson has been a consistent scorer throughout her LSU career, as she is averaging 14.6 points per game throughout her four seasons in Baton Rouge. So far this season, the Savannah, GA native is averaging 14.1 points per game and shooting 46.7% from the floor. She is also shooting a career-high 41.4% from beyond the arc.

Johnson had a bit of an off shooting night on Thursday against Tennessee, as she went just 3-for-10 from the floor and 3-for-9 from the free throw line. However, she has a proven track record of bouncing back and should still enter Sunday's regular season finale against Mississippi State with plenty of confidence. The last time Johnson faced Mississippi State last season on February 2, she scored 20 points and knocked down four of her six three-point attempts.

If she scores less than 25 points against the Bulldogs on Sunday, Johnson will likely reach the 2,000-point mark in the SEC Tournament which takes place from March 4-6 in Nashville. Thanks to Thursday's win over Tennessee, LSU has already secured a double bye in the conference tournament. After winning a National Championship in her freshman season, Johnson is looking to lead the Tigers to another title in her final season with the pruple and gold.
