Echols' move from Baton Rouge to College Station brings him back to his home state. He first came to LSU as a 4-star recruit out of Katy, TX, and was ranked as the No. 14 interior offensive lineman in the country for the 2024 recruiting class. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 247 player in the portal and the No. 16 interior offensive lineman on the market.

Echols played in five games last season as a true freshman, and appeared in all 12 regular season games with seven starts in 2025. He brought great versatility to the LSU offensive line, spending time at multiple positions. Echols spent most of his time at left guard this past season, but was also featured at right guard on September 20 against Southeastern Louisiana. He also saw time at center in 2024.

Texas A&M is also in the running to land another former LSU offensive lineman. According to GigEm247, the Aggies hosted Tyree Adams for a visit this past weekend.

Kiffin has yet to officially bring any offensive linemen to LSU via the portal, but help is on the way in the form of 4-star OL prospect Brysten Martinez. The Gonzales, LA native is rated by 247Sports as the No. 4 player in Louisiana and the No. 10 offensive lineman in the country for the 2026 recruiting class. Furthermore, 3-star OL prospect Ryan Miret flipped his commitment from Ole Miss to LSU shortly after Kiffin was hired at LSU.
