A native of Ponchatoula, LA, Finley was rated as the best quarterback prospect in Louisiana for the 2020 recruiting class. He decided to stay in-state to attend LSU, and following an injury to Myles Brennan, started 5 games for the Tigers as a true freshman in 2020. In those games, he completed 80 of his 140 pass attempts (57.1 completion percentage) for 941 yards and 5 touchdowns to go along with 5 interceptions.

Finley's best season thus far came at Texas State in 2023. With the Bobcats, he threw for 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns with 8 interceptions over the course of 13 games. He most recently played for Georgia State this past season. Appearing in 7 games, the former Tiger threw for 1,244 yards and 6 touchdowns with 7 interceptions.

In his collegiate career, Finley has racked up 7,372 passing yards and 43 touchdowns with 27 interceptions. He's also collected 8 rushing touchdowns.

A lot has changed in the college football world since Finley began his collegiate career. The landscape surrounding NIL and the transfer portal has taken the sport by storm in recent years, and Finley's career has been aided by COVID eligibility rules. Now set to play for his seventh team, Finley brings 41 appearances and 6 years of experience to the Cardinals.
