This weekend, despite a slew of upset losses by teams ahead of the LSU Football team in the AP Poll, the Tigers didn't move up in the AP Poll. The Tigers remain a top ten team in the Coaches Poll and the AP has the Tigers ranked 13th.

These two outlets aren't the only members of the media that rank College Football teams as nearly everyone that covers College football ranks teams every week. One of the members of the media that ranks College Football teams is Dan Mullen the former Florida and Mississippi State Coach who currently works for ESPN.

Dan Mullen's rankings this week have raised some eyebrows:

There are a few surprises starting with Pitt and Indiana ranked ahead of SEC big wigs like Alabama and Georgia. The most shocking omission may be that the LSU Football team is not ranked in Dan Mullen's Top 25.

Now it's possible that Dan Mullen simply doesn't believe in the LSU Football team and that would be a fair take. LSU has lost to the best team they've faced and they haven't looked all that great against the unranked teams they've beaten.

This also could just as easily be a case of Dan Mullen having an axe to grind with the LSU Football team. During his time as a Head Coach, Dan Mullen went 3-10 versus the LSU Football team. In 2020, Dan Mullen's Gators had a great chance at making the College Football Playoff except, Marco Wilson threw Kole Taylor's cleat setting LSU to win on a Cade York field goal.

Its okay to be down on this LSU Football Team

As LSU prepares for its biggest test of the season against Ole Miss, it's reasonable to be unhappy with this LSU team. The Tigers defense hasn't looked too much better even though they've taken slight steps towards returning to their standard. In LSU's season opener, the Coaching Staff clearly got outcoached which is a massive red flag. It'll take a win this weekend if LSU wants to gain back faith and if the Tigers want to make the Playoffs.
