During March of 2024, Saahdiq Charles inked a one year deal worth $1.5 million with the Tennessee Titans ending his tenure with the Washington Commanders the team that had drafted him. During the beginning of training camp, Saahdiq Charles was named the Titans starting right guard which would've set him up for a massive payday if he played well. Then just a few days later, Saahdiq Charles announced he would be retiring which came as shocking news.
After four solid seasons as a rotational piece and a starter, it appeared Charles was done with football before he even had his breakout season which was disappointing. Then this Spring, Charles had a change of heart after sitting out the 2024-25 season and announced he was unretiring from the NFL. After returning to the league, the Tennessee Titans released Charles allowing him to find his next home.
The Dallas Cowboys sign LSU Aluim Saadhiq Charles
On Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys helped Charles clear another barrier in his return to the NFL as the team signed him to a one year deal.
The signing comes less than a week after Saahdiq Charles worked out for the Cowboys as he clearly showed that he still has plenty of good football left in the tank. It's incredible to see the Charles will have a chance this Summer to earn a spot on the Cowboys 53 man roster especially as he left the game at such a young age.
The Cowboys have plenty of holes to fill on the offensive line as the past few seasons have seen some franchise icons and elite offensive linemen leave Dallas. Charles has experience at guard and tackle which will make him an appealing candidate to keep on the roster as he can be plugged in at any position.
