Garrett Nussmeier is drawing a ton of draft buzz from NFL Draft analysts
Garrett Nussmeier will play arguably the biggest game of his career thus far when he takes on the Texas A&M Aggies tonight. This season, Nussmeier has exceeded expectations but hasn't had his two best games the last two weeks. As the other draft eligible quarterbacks struggle, NFL Draft analysts are starting to fall in love with Nussmeier as an NFL prospect.
Last weekend, we posed the thought that Garrett Nussmeier may be the best quarterback in the SEC, this week Draft analysts are declaring he's the best quarterback in the draft class.
Dan Brugler the NFL Draft analyst for the Athletic went on Check the Mic where he talked about Garrett Nussmeier being his top ranked draft prospect and compared him to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
ESPN Analyst and former NFL Quarterback Dan Orlovsky responded to a mock draft by saying he believes that Garrett Nussmeier works his way into the conversation as the first quarterback off the board.
College Football Analyst Bud Elliot agreed with Orlovsky's take saying its not even a hot take.
On NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay's podcast, former College Gameday analyst David Pollack declared that Nussmeier is the best quarterback in the SEC and the best in the Draft Class. McShay declared Nussmeier the most underrated quarterback in the class and spoke on Nussmeier's ability to hang in the pocket and the way he anticipates throws.
One of the stats that jump off the page to Draft Analysts is Nussmeier's Pressures to Sack rate as he's been pressured 64 times but, has been sacked just once.
This weekend's game will be the big test for Garrett Nussmeier
The Texas A&M defense is better than they get credit for and on the road in a tough environment, it could be a tough game for Garrett Nussmeier. How a quarterback plays in an environment like we'll see on Saturday night is the perfect game to judge a quarterback on. Nussmeier has had some solid games this season but, LSU will need one of his best performances of the year against Texas A&M.
