After picking up their first SEC Series win of the year, the LSU Baseball team returns to action on Tuesday Night as the Tigers face off against the New Orleans Privateers. The Tigers are coming off of a sweep of the Missouri Tigers improving LSU to 20-1 which is the best record through 21 games since 1997. After the 4-0 week, LSU was bumped down in D1Baseball's Top 25 rankings meaning LSU is the 2nd ranked team to start the week.

The first SEC Series of the year saw LSU use every arm in its bullpen, especially on Saturday and Sunday which leaves LSU without a clear starter in this game. Pitching shouldn't be an issue for LSU as the Tigers have been crushing the baseball and will look to continue their dominance in Midweek games.

The New Orleans Privateers are off to an 11-7 start and their offense is no joke as they've scored 57 runs over their last four games. While New Orleans' offense has been dominant their pitching staff has struggled with a cumulative 7.37 ERA which should allow LSU to have success in this game.

Who Could Start for LSU?

Which pitcher Jay Johnson starts in this game will be meaningful as the Tigers have three pitchers still pushing to work their way into the weekend rotation but, LSU used a ton of pitchers this weekend. The wild card remains Gavin Guidry who has been close to returning from injury but, hasn't been able to make his season debut. William Schmidt pitched this weekend against Missouri and got the weekday start last week before it became a bullpen game. Conner Ware also pitched a ton this weekend and has started during the week several times which makes him a candidate.

It wouldn't be a surprise with a massive series against Texas on the horizon if Jay Johnson made this a bullpen game allowing him to have all of his pitchers at his disposal.
