On Wednesday Morning, the LSU Softball team kicked off postseason play as the Tigers shutout the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Jayden Heavener dominated on the mound pitching a complete game shutout allowing just one hit allowing LSU to pick up a crucial ranked win as the NCAA Tournament is right around the corner.

As LSU looks to keep building momentum the Tigers face off against the Oklahoma Sooners in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. LSU is 41-13 on the season and 13-12 against SEC opponents holding the 9th seed in the tournament. The Sooners are the top seed in the SEC Tournament with a 43-7 record on the year and a 17-7 record against SEC Opponents. As of late the Sooners have struggled entering the SEC Tournament on a 2 game losing streak.

In the Oklahoma Sooners first season in the SEC, they didn't face the Tigers making this the first matchup between the programs as SEC foes. A win for LSU would be massive as the Tigers are currently 4th in the RPI but, a win over Oklahoma would give the Tigers another Top 10 win while allowing them the chance to earn another key victory on Friday.
