On Sunday Night, the LSU Baseball team fumbled a chance to close out the Baton Rouge Regional as the offense went cold and the pitching staff struggled, allowing Little Rock to force an elimination game on Monday Night. The game now becomes a do or die game for both programs with the winner facing West Virginia in Super Regionals with the loser going home.
The Tigers cruised through the first two games of the Regional behind Anthony Eyanson and Kade Anderson. Sunday showed the importance of Anderson and Eyanson as the Tigers pitching staff struggled allowing far too many free passes to Little Rock. In this game, LSU will once again be without its two aces which will let everyone see what this team is made of.
After losing to LSU in the opening game of the Regional, the Little Rock Trojans have gotten red hot over the past few days. The Trojans dominated Rhode Island before eliminating Dallas Baptist and forcing a Game 7 against LSU.
Despite LSU being the host of the Regionals, the Tigers will be the away team in this crucial Game 7 which is one of the craziest rules.
Who will pitch for the LSU Tigers?
Jay Johnson has already thrown his two aces, deploying Anthony Eyanson on Friday and Kade Anderson on Saturday Night, burning both pitchers. As Zac Cowan and Casan Evans didn't appear on Sunday Night, one of the two will likely start with the other immediately following them. This game will be pieced together from a pitching approach which means the Tigers will need to produce on offense.
