Jacobian Guillory will return to LSU in 2025 after tearing his Achilles
The entire offseason, LSU scoured the transfer portal looking for SEC Caliber defensive tackles landing Gio Paez and Jay'Viar Suggs. The Tigers added these players to play alongside returnee Jacobian Guillory who the staff expected would have a breakout season. Those plans got derailed for LSU when Jacobian Guillory tore his Achilles against Nicholls State.
Given that Guillory was a fifth year senior, his status was in question as he could've turned pro, given up on football, or returned on a medical redshirt. The Tigers will be getting Jacobian Guillory back according to Jacques Doucet as he'll return for one more season.
This is massive news for LSU as they'll return a starter to the team next season who could give this team valuable snaps at defensive tackle. We saw how difficult it was this Spring for LSU to find transfer defensive tackles without dishing out a ton of money in NIL so getting on of the Tigers own back is an incredible development.
LSU has recruited well at defensive tackle as Bo Davis has gotten commitments from four defensive tackles. Add in Jacobian Guillory and underclassmen like Dominick McKinley and Gabe Reliford among others and you suddenly turn a position that was a weakness into a strength.
Bo Davis has done an incredible job meshing transfers, freshmen, and defensive ends into defensive tackles so it'll be nice to see what he's able to do with a room of players with experience and players who actually play defensive tackle.
