It's shaping up to be a huge weekend for LSU athletics.
Several sports are set to take center stage from Thursday through Sunday with great opportunities to earn impressive victories over nationally-ranked opponents.
LSU women's basketball hosts South Carolina for top-10 rivalry matchup
The LSU women's basketball program is set to be in the national spotlight on Saturday when the South Carolina Gamecocks come to town. The matchup between the No. 6 Tigers and No. 3 Gamecocks is one of the most anticipated games of the entire college basketball season.
South Carolina enters with an overall record of 24-2 and a 10-2 mark in SEC play, while LSU is 22-3 overall and 8-3 in the SEC. The Tigers are looking for revenge, as the Gamecocks defeated LSU by a score of 66-56 in their lone meeting last season in Columbia. The loss ended LSU's undefeated season after a 20-0 start.
College GameDay will be on site in anticipation of the top-10 showdown, and a large fan fest will take place outside the PMAC prior to tip-off.

In addition to Kim Mulkey's team looking to earn a huge win over the 3rd-ranked Gamecocks, Mulkey and her staff are hoping to impress several top recruits who will be in attendance. Among them is 5-star prospect Caroline Bradley, who is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 7 overall player and the No. 1 center in the country for the 2027 recruiting class.
LSU Baseball opening weekend
The LSU Baseball team is set to open the 2026 season this weekend with a home series against Milwaukee. Opening Day is on Friday, with first pitch slated for 2:00 p.m. CT. Sophomore right-hander Casan Evans will toe the rubber for the Tigers in the opener looking to start the season on a high note. The Tigers and Panthers will also meet on Saturday and Sunday at Alex Box Stadium.
Jay Johnson reveals LSU's pitching rotation for opening weekend
Jay Johnson has led LSU to National Championships in two of the last three seasons, and has the 2026 team well-positioned for another title run. A total of 19 players return from last year's championship team, and Johnson bolstered the roster with several impact transfers. The Tigers enter the new campaign as the odds-on favorites to win it all on DraftKings Sportsbook, giving them plenty of hype once again.
LSU Softball battles multiple top-25 opponents in Clearwater Invitational
The LSU Softball program is off to a 6-1 start and owns the No. 10 spot in the latest AP Top-25 Poll. The Tigers are in Clearwater this weekend competing in the Shriner's Children's Clearwater Invitational with a field of great competition. LSU fell to No. 11 Nebraska in the opener, but has multiple opportunities to pickup strong wins throughout the weekend. LSU is set to take on Oklahoma State on Thursday afternoon, No. 22 Duke on Friday, UCF on Saturday, and No. 6 UCLA on Sunday.
LSU Basketball battles Tennessee in Knoxville
The LSU men's basketball program is enduring yet another tough season. Matt McMahon's seat continues to get hotter and hotter, but he and the Tigers have a great chance to raise some eyebrows with a road win on Saturday against Tennessee. The Volunteers have fallen outside of the top-25, and have now dropped four SEC games on the season. Tip-off between the Tigers and Volunteers is set for 5:00 p.m. CT.
