Jayden Daniels took the NFL by storm last season en route to a historic rookie campaign. The Heisman Trophy winning QB was named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024 after throwing 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns to go along with 891 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns. However, Daniels' sophomore NFL season continues to be plagued by injuries.

Daniels missed Washington's Week 3 and 4 games with a knee sprain. He returned for three games but then suffered a leg injury in Week 7 against the Cowboys. After missing Week 8 against the Chiefs, Daniels returned to the field in Week 9 to face the Seahawks, but dislocated his left elbow in the 4th quarter.

He then missed more than a month before returning this past week against the Vikings. Unfortunately, Daniels aggravated his elbow injury further, knocking him out of the game in 3rd quarter. Now, his status for the remainder of the 2025 season is in serious doubt.

Jayden Daniels injury update: Former Tiger QB to miss Week 15 against the Giants

Commanders head coach Dan Quinn has announced that Daniels won't be active for Sunday's matchup against the Giants. It will be the 7th game Daniels misses so far this season.

Quinn also said that while Daniels aggravated his elbow injury, further medical examinations showed that no structural damage was present. That could mean that Daniels could return to the field at some point in the final 3 weeks of the season.

But given the fact that he's battled multiple injuries all season long, is it worth risking further injury to a franchise QB who figures to compete for an MVP next season? If Daniels makes a full recovery, that's something that Quinn and the Commanders will have to decide over the next few weeks.

The Commanders are 3-10 and have lost 8 games in a row. After competing in the NFC Championship Game last season, Washington is eliminated from playoff contention entering Week 15. It will be interesting to see how Washington handles Daniels' injury situation over the next month with no playoff hopes to play for.
