The 2025 season hasn't gone as planned for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Burrow went down with a turf toe injury in Week 2 and missed 9 games. The Bengals went 1-8 in his absence, and will now miss the playoff for a 3rd consecutive season. Burrow returned in Week 13, and despite missing significant time once again this season, is on the verge of breaking an impressive Bengals franchise record.

Ja'Marr Chase in rarified air after latest sensational performance

With his 305-yard performance against the Cardinals on Sunday, Burrow now has 28 300-yard games to his name during his NFL career. That ties Andy Dalton for the most in Bengals franchise history.

However, what makes Burrow's feat more impressive is that he needed 57 less games to reach that number than Dalton did. Burrow reached 28 games with 300 yards in 76 games, while Dalton needed 133 games.

Joe Burrow eyes Bengals franchise record in Week 18 against the Browns

Despite battling significant injuries on several occasions throughout his NFL career, Burrow continues to shine when healthy. In 7 games this season, Burrow is completing 65.5% of his passes and has racked up 1,573 yards to go along with 14 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He is now coming off back-to-back 300-yard games, and a 3rd in a row in the regular season finale on Sunday will give him the Bengals franchise record.

In 9 career games against Cleveland, Burrow is averaging 233.77 yards per game and has exceeded the 300-yard mark twice. Both of those came back in 2020 during his rookie season when he threw for 316 yards on November 17 and 406 yards on October 25. The Browns have one of the best passing defenses in the NFL, as they are allowing just 163.8 passing yards per game, which ranks 2nd in the league.

Burrow's chemisty with Ja'Marr Chase continues to produce elite numbers for both former Tigers. Chase is now the first player in NFL history to have 80+ receptions, 1,000+ receiving yards, and 7+ receiving touchdowns in each of his first 5 NFL seasons. While out of playoff contention, Burrow and Chase will look to end the season on a high note on Sunday, January against the Browns.
