The College Baseball regular season is drawing to a close with one week remaining until Postseason play begins. As the College Baseball season nears its conclusion, the MLB Draft buzz begins to build especially with players projected to go in the 1st round of the draft. July 13th is just over 2 months away which means the MLB Draft buzz is only going to start building from this point forward.

One of the most important storylines of the LSU Baseball season has been the next step that LSU Starting Pitcher Kade Anderson has taken. The Sophomore has been the Tigers' Friday starter the majority of the season dueling against some of the best pitchers and team's in America. As Anderson has taken his game to the next level it's become more likely that he'll enter the MLB Draft as a Draft eligible Sophomore.

Kade Anderson Projected 3rd overall in 2025 MLB Draft by MLB Pipeline

MLB Pipeline's Jim Callis released his first 2025 MLB mock draft with the LSU star getting selected 3rd overall to the Seattle Mariners.

This season, Kade Anderson has been the best sophomore in College Baseball this season and given the fact that he'll be one of the youngest College entrants into the draft, he'll certainly hear his name called in the Top 10. The selection would make Anderson the 2nd College player to be selected and the 2nd pitcher off of the board behind Liam Doyle.

As a Freshman, Anderson posted a 3.99 ERA across 38.1 innings with 59 strikeouts and 20 walks. In his first season as a weekend starter, Anderson has taken his game to another level lowering his ERA to 3.66 across 76.1 innings with 124 strikeouts and has kept his walks at 20.

Anderson will have a chance to pass Liam Doyle if he continues his dominance down the stretch as he has a more traditional delivery than Doyle's while he's also a left handed pitcher with a 4 pitch mix.
