It's safe to say the LSU women's basketball program is back on track. After suffering back-to-back losses to Kentucky and Vanderbilt when the calendar flipped to 2026, Mulkey's team has now reeled off six consecutive victories.

LSU's latest win came by a score of 92-70 over Arkansas on Thursday night at the PMAC. Mikaylah Williams and Flau'jae Johnson paced the Tigers with 17 points each, while Grace Knox, Jada Richard, Kate Koval, and ZaKiyah Johnson all posted double-digit scoring totals. LSU now sits as 20-2 overall and 6-2 in the SEC while holding the No. 6 ranking in this week's AP Top-25.
In what was also her 900th career game, Thursday's win also continued a historic streak for Mulkey.
Kim Mulkey continues historic streak with LSU's latest victory
By leading LSU to its 20th win of the season on Thursday, Mulkey has now put together 26 straight seasons of 20+ wins. The impressive streak began back in the 2000-01 season during her first season at Baylor. Now, Mulkey has reached the 20-win mark in every season as a Division I head coach.

Getting to the 20-win mark adds just another chapter to Mulkey's historic career. Mulkey's all-time record is now up to 774-126, which equates to a stellar .860 winning percentage. That is good for the second-best winning percentage both all-time and among active head coaches. Now in her fifth season in Baton Rouge, Mulkey has led the Tigers to an overall record of 142-22 (.866) and a strong 59-13 (.819) mark in SEC play.
But as impressive as her 20-win streak is, Mulkey is hoping this chapter of her career yields another National Championship. LSU owns the highest-scoring offense in the country scoring 98.7 points per game, and a whopping seven Tigers are averaging at least 10 points per game: Flau'jae Johnson (14.3), MiLaysia Fulwiley (14.1), Mikaylah Williams (12.9), ZaKiyah Johnson (10.2), Amiya Joyner (10.2), Grace Knox (10.1), and Kate Koval. That kind of depth makes LSU an extremely tough team to beat, and will come in handy when March rolls around.
LSU currently has National Championship odds of +1200 on DraftKings Sportsbook, which are the 5th-best odds in the country. The Tigers are back in action on Sunday, February 1 with a home tilt against No. 24 Alabama.
