The LSU women's basketball team is looking to get back into the win column on Thursday night when they visit the No. 17 Ole Miss Rebels. The last time the Tigers took the court, they were defeated by Dawn Staley's South Carolina Gamecocks by a score of 79-72 on Saturday night at the PMAC.

The loss was LSU's 18th consecutive defeat to South Carolina, and dropped Kim Mulkey to 2-7 against Staley in her career and 0-6 against South Carolina at the helm of the LSU program.

Along with looking to get back into the win column, the Tigers are looking for revenge against the 17th-ranked Rebels.

Tigers eyeing revenge in road contest at Ole Miss

The Tigers and Rebels have met 66 times in their respective histories, with LSU owning a 43-23 advantage in the all-time series. However, Ole Miss was victorious in the last meeting between these teams, as the unranked Rebels took down the 7th-ranked Tigers 85-77 last March in Baton Rouge.

It was the first win over LSU for Ole Miss since February 26, 2015. Now, the Tigers are looking for payback in Oxford.

A win over the 17th-ranked Rebels would be LSU's fourth top-25 win of the season. The Tigers have faced seven ranked opponents so far, going 3-4 in those contests.

On the other side, the Rebels are 21-6 on the season and have faced eight ranked opponents up to this point. They are 4-4 in those meetings, with their best win of the season coming against in Norman against No. 5 Oklahoma by a score of 74-69 on January 8. The Rebels are battle-tested, and figure to give the Tigers all they can handle.

The SEC Tournament is quickly approaching, as LSU has just four games left in the regular season. After battling Ole Miss on Thursday, the Tigers host Missouri on February 22, Tennessee on February 26, and close out the regular season in Starkville with a road tilt against Mississippi State on March 1.
