The first few days of the transfer portal being open haven't resulted in any major moves from Lane Kiffin just yet. Kiffin has brought in former Hawai'i WR Jackson Harris and former Utah RB Raycine Guillory, but LSU's new head coach has yet to make a major splash.

Lane Kiffin and LSU add RB depth with latest move in the transfer portal

Kiffin and LSU missed out on Cincinnati QB Brendan Sorsby, who is now heading to Texas Tech. Kiffin has now turned his attention to Arizona State's Sam Leavitt, which would be the big splash that Tiger fans are waiting for.

As Kiffin continues building his roster for the 2026 season, the offensive line is a major point of emphasis. A total of 6 LSU offensive lineman have entered the portal, meaning Kiffin and new OL coach Eric Wolford have a lot of work to do in rebuilding LSU's offensive line. One player that would be a great get for Kiffin and his staff is NC State OL Jacarrius Peak.

NC State's Jacarrius Peak would be a monster get for Lane Kiffin and LSU

Peak is ranked as the No. 1 offensive lineman in the Saturday Blitz Transfer Portal Rankings. He's has been incredible in pass protection, as he allowed just 2 sacks in 486 pass blocking snaps this season with the Wolfpack. He has one year of eligibility remaining, and is already among the most sought-after players in the portal. LSU needs to make a move.

Peak has plenty of experience under his belt, as he was a 3-year starter for NC State. He could have declared for the NFL Draft, but instead entered his name into the transfer portal to play one more season of college football. The 6'4", 300-pound lineman would be a great fit in LSU's revamped offensive line.

After allowing just 2 sacks in 486 pass blocking snaps this season, including zero pressures in his last 4 regular season games, Peak earned All-ACC Honorable Mention honors in 2025. He logged the most snaps among NC State offensive linemen and according to Pro Football Focus, was one of the highest-graded blockers on the team.

Peak hails from Valdosta, GA, and was ranked as the No. 11 Ol prospect in the country for the 2022 recruiting class. Given his Georgia ties, it's worth keeping an eye on Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs in his transfer portal recruitment.

But Kiffin and LSU need to make him a priority. LSU is desperate for OL help, and Peak is the best available player on the market. LSU's offensive line severely underperformed and dealt with plenty of injuries in 2025. Looking ahead to 2026, Kiffin and his staff need to bring in elite offensive line talent. Peak would be a great start.
