LSU icon expresses both support and concern over Lane Kiffin coaching the Tigers
LSU has pursued Kiffin heavily since the minute Brian Kelly was fired, and Tiger fans are waiting with bated breath for Kiffin's announcement - which is slated to come on Saturday. Bruce Feldman has given an update on Kiffin's situation, and it has LSU fans beaming with confidence.
Is Lane Kiffin to LSU a done deal?
According to Feldman, LSU officials are "very confident" that Kiffin is Baton Rouge bound. "I talked to LSU sources this morning, and they are very confident that Lane Kiffin is going to come to Baton Rouge and accept this job," said Feldman on FOX Big Noon Kickoff on Saturday morning.

Feldman also stated that LSU has offered Kiffin a seven-year contract worth about $100 million. Kiffin has been at the top of LSU hot boards for the last month and a half, and LSU has gone all-in on getting him to Baton Rouge. Kiffin was also linked to the Florida job, but it has since been reported that the Gators have begun to shift their focus to other candidates. Now it seems to be down to a decision between staying at Ole Miss and going to LSU for Kiffin.
While Kiffin has stated his love for Ole Miss often, Feldman says that the championship lore of LSU could be too appealing to pass up for the Rebel head coach. Nick Saban, Les Miles, and Ed Orgeron all won national titles at LSU by the end of their fourth seasons in Baton Rouge. Kiffin led Ole Miss to its first-ever 11-win regular season, and has his team in the hunt for a National Championship. Kiffin has never coached in the College Football Playoff, but has his Rebels as essentially a lock to land a spot in this year's playoff.
While Feldman's report has LSU fans confident, he also stated that this is Lane Kiffin we're dealing with. Kiffin has a flare for the dramatics and loves a good troll, and sometimes you never really know what he is going to do until he does it.
