This NFL offseason has been a massive payday for former LSU Football stars as several Tigers have broken the bank with massive contract extensions. Ja'Marr Chase kicked the week off by signing a massive contract extension with the Bengals which made him the highest-paid Non-Quarterback in NFL History. Derek Stingley Jr followed quickly on Monday morning signing a massive extension which made him the highest-paid cornerback in the league.
Now it's Danielle Hunter who inks a massive deal as he signed a massive contract extension which will make him the second highest paid defensive end in the league.
The #Texans and Danielle Hunter have agreed to a one-year, $35.6 million contract extension that makes him the NFL’s second-highest paid defensive end, per sources.

The contract is a one-year extension worth $35.6 Million which means he'll earn $32 million in 2025 while making $54.1 million guaranteed over the next two seasons.
The move gives Danielle Hunter some well-deserved recognition as he's long performed as one of the best edge rushers in the league yet, is never mentioned in that conversation. This season was another productive season for Hunter who recorded 12 sacks, a forced fumble, and three pass deflections.
Next season Hunter will most likely cross the elite threshold as he's currently sitting at 99.5 sacks knocking on the door of the 100-sack club. After being drafted in the 3rd round, Hunter has been a massive success story in the NFL heading into his tenth season in the league. Next season, Hunter will only be more comfortable in the Texans' defense as it'll be his second season with the team.
The deal to keep Hunter in Houston keeps him alongside several elite players in a young defense which has the Houston Texans among the team's competing for the Super Bowl. Hunter will continue to play alongside fellow LSU Tiger and NFL Superstar Derek Stingley Jr who signed a deal of his own with the Texans.
