The LSU Tigers fell to 5-4 overall and a lowly 2-4 in SEC play this season with a 20-9 loss at No. 4 Alabama in Week 11. The wheels have fallen off this season, as the Tigers have now lost three games in a row and four of their last five games. With three games to go, LSU is hoping to finish the season strong while the LSU Board of Supervisors searches for the program's next head coach.

5-star LSU football commit once again sends message that he won't flip

Of the notable storylines from Saturday's loss to Alabama, LSU feared that WR Nic Anderson would be done for the season after suffering a knee injury against the Crimson Tide. However, the most recent updates gives hope that Anderson can return to the field before the end of the season.

Nic Anderson injury update: Still hope WR returns in 2025

Anderson underwent an MRI on Sunday evening that revealed the injury isn't as bad as initially suspected. Anderson is still slated to be out for the forseeable future, but it seems that LSU avoided the worse-case scenario.

The injury occurred late in the 3rd quarter on Saturday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Anderson needed help getting off the field before heading to the locker room for further evaluation. He returned to the sidelines wearing street clothes in the 4th quarter. The junior wideout had a pair of catches for 32 yards before leaving the game.

LSU's remaining three games are vs Arkansas on Nov. 15, vs Western Kentucky on Nov. 22, and at No. 12 Oklahoma on Nov. 29. The matchup against the Sooners in Norman would give Anderson a chance to go up against his former team. Anderson transferred to LSU after two seasons with Oklahoma. He set a program record with 10 touchdown catches during his freshman season in 2023 before missing nearly all of the 2024 campaign due to injury.

So far this season, Anderson has 12 catches for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns with LSU. Hopefully he is able to get healthy in time to face his old team in a few weeks, as well as suit up for a potential bowl game.
