Last Week was a winning week for the LSU Baseball team as the Tigers went 3-1 with wins over Southern and a Weekend Series win over Omaha. While it was a winning week for the LSU Baseball team, the Tigers did suffer their first loss of the season to the Omaha Mavericks which could've been a setback for the LSU Tigers in the College Baseball rankings.

Rather than potentially sliding in the Rankings, D1 Baseball has the LSU Tigers on the rise jumping up one seed in the rankings going from 3rd to 2nd trailing only Texas A&M in the poll.

The LSU Baseball team jumps Virginia who has had a rough start to the season with a 3-3 record falling all the way to 10.

An early season loss happens to everyone as seen with Texas A&M, Arkansas, Georgia, Oregon State, and other team all suffering ugly losses during this opening stretch. While LSU losing to Omaha was ugly in the long run the loss won't affect the Tigers at all.

The new rankings update showcases the dominance in the SEC as Texas A&M, LSU, Tennessee, and Arkansas are the Nation's Top Four Teams while Georgia and Florida check in at 6th and 8th rounding out the Top Ten for the SEC with six teams. As a whole, the SEC has 11 teams in the Top 25 and a handful of teams that could join the Top 25 with another strong week like 8-0 Alabama.

The week ahead for the LSU Baseball team is the Tigers toughest week thus far this season. LSU will face off against Nicholls State on Monday Night before heading to Texas where they'll face 19th ranked Dallas Baptist, Kansas State, Nebraska who just fell outside of the Top 25, and Sam Houston.
