The LSU Baseball team just wrapped up another week of games as Postseason play rapidly approaches with just two weeks to go until the end of the regular season. Where you stand in the National Polls hasn't been as important as it is right now as the NCAA selection committee will start to prepare for the task of ranking the teams for the College World Series.

For the LSU Baseball team, the top priority is remaining a top 8 seed Nationally as the Tigers will want to host both Regionals and Super Regionals for a chance to advance to Omaha. After dropping the weekend series to Texas A&M there was some fear that LSU may take a tumble in the D1Baseball rankings but, the Tigers only fell to 3rd from 2nd.

The Tigers started last week as the 2nd ranked team in the Country according to D1Baseball, Baseball America, and Perfect Game trailing only Texas. In the Mid-Week Matchup, LSU took care of business with a 15-2 mercy rule win over Southeastern Louisiana. The Tigers then clashed against Texas A&M dropping two games they easily could've won while Anthony Eyanson pitched a complete game in the 2nd game of the series to give LSU their lone win of the weekend.

The SEC still continues to dominate the Top 25 with Top Ranked Texas, 3rd ranked LSU, 6th ranked Georgia, 7th ranked Arkansas, 8th ranked Auburn, 11th ranked Vanderbilt, 15th ranked Tennessee, 17th ranked Oklahoma, 23rd ranked Alabama, and 25th ranked Ole Miss.

This week the LSU Baseball team is back in Baton Rouge facing off against Grambling State on Tuesday Night before hosting the red hot 7th Ranked Arkansas Razorbacks fresh off of their sweep of Texas which will be a massive clash. LSU taking the series against Arkansas would be massive for LSU's National Ranking while it would go a long way in securing a Top 4 seed in the SEC Tournament.
