Thus far, Matt McMahon is having an excellent cycle on the recruiting trail for the LSU Basketball program. The Tigers hold the 13th ranked recruiting class having landed two top 75 recruits in Shooting Guard Mazi Mosley and Power Forward Matt Gilhool. The haul of Mosley and Gilhool is a solid class but, the Tigers still have one recruit that is an absolute must get.

The Nation's 7th ranked recruit is Power Forward Chris Cenac and while he's ranked as the top player in Missouri, he's a New Orleans Native.

In August, the LSU Basketball program made the cut of 12 teams that Chris Cenac was focusing on which was a big win. The Tigers have now made the cut again this time making the cut of Seven schools he's considering.

Making the cut was massive especially as powerhouse teams like Alabama, UConn, Texas, Louisville, and Michigan State were cut off of the list.

According to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine, the LSU Basketball program is the frontrunner with a 28% chance of landing Cenac while Houston is right behind with a 19.7% chance.

Simply put for Matt McMahon, landing a recruit of Cenac's caliber is an absolute must if he's going to turn this player around. It's not often that you see a top ten recruit in Basketball coming out of Louisiana and when they do they have to go LSU's way. The Tigers will get Cenac onto campus when the Football team hosts Alabama and it'll need to be an all hands on deck push in the program.
